Just a quick update…
Surgery went as planned, about 2 hours total from the time they took him until the surgeon came to tell us he was done.
It took about 2 hours from then until we saw him again. Coming off anesthesia is hard for anyone but I can’t explain how it is on babies that don’t understand. The confusion is written all over his face. As parents our job is to protect our children and comfort our children when pain arises, but in these moments there isn’t anything we can do to make it better, and that’s hard, really hard actually.
He has a lot of blood coming out of his mouth, nose and ears, so we’ll wait until he’s cleaned up to show his face. (Even though on the “outside” nothing is different)
He did drink about an ounce of formula which is good but the real test will be once the anesthesia wears off and he really starts to feel the pain.
Please pray for his pain to be minimal and we can stay in front of the pain. Pray that he will eat well once the “good meds” wear off.

Lots of Prayers
